Many keenly awaited movies are releasing in July including Ranbir Kapoor starer Jagga Jasoos and Tiger Shroff-starred Munna Michael. The latter has Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the cast and is seeking to balance the fans of Tiger and Nawaz. Mubarakan will show Arjun Kapoor in an untested track of comedy.

Jab Harry Met Sejal

Among the August releases, most notable are Shahrukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha.

Both movies are high on buzz and expected to do good business to enter the INR 100 crore plus club.

Among the July films, there is high buzz over Lipstick Under My Burkha being directed by Alankrita Shrivastava.

Produced by veteran Prakash Jha, the film blends joy and camaraderie and will be released on 21 July. The movie has Konkana Sen Sharma playing an important role.

In an interview, the actress expressed optimism that the film will be well received.

“It’s rare that we come across such kind of stories,” said Konkana. Sen said her character is unique and the script surprised her as rare and unusual. It deals with the lives of four women from four different communities from Bhopal.

“I really read it in one go” added Konkana.

Konkana also had her debut in direction with ‘Death in The Gunj’. She expressed happiness in having worked with Alankrita Shrivastava. “One day she gave me the script to read and said that she is interested in making this film”.

Konkana added that today’s audience is very curious and will accept the films wholeheartedly.

Priyanka Chopra To Strengthen Hindi Films

Meanwhile, actress Priyanka Chopra has stated that she wanted to develop the right Hindi films.  Addressing a recent press conference for the launch of her upcoming Marathi production Kay Re Rascala with cast and crew, she talked about the plans of her production house Purple Pebble.

“Of course we are also developing Hindi and English films. As a production house, we have spent a lot of time in the last 2 years, in trying to find new things to develop, the process is still going on. Of course, I want to develop Hindi films, but it has to be the right one. For my each film, it is important to have the right combination of things.” Priyanka said.

The international actor also spoke about why she wants to concentrate on regional film production. “For me it’s about being able to present a global platform to regional films. Beautiful stories come from everywhere, we have worked in various languages we have recently worked on a Sikkimese film, two Marathi, Bhojpuri, Punjabi and even Bengali films,” said Priyanka.

Priyanka is now working on Hollywood movies titled A Kid Like Jake and Isn’t It Romantic. In Hindi, she has Gustakhiyan, a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film where she plays the role of writer-poetess Amrita Pritam.
