Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are now available for pre-order in India, Many retailers in big metros are taking pre-orders, after the launch date was confirmed for Oct.16, Friday. So, Apple will formally unveil the latest iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in India on October 16. It will be the fastest iPhone rollout ever in the Indian market, coming soon after less than 30 days of launch in Western markets. The Times of India reported that Apple dealers have indicated the approximate prices in India. The iPhone 6s 64GB will be priced at INR 72,000 and (US$1100) the 128GB at INR 82,000 (US$1257). The iPhone 6s Plus 16Gb at Rs 72,000 and the 64GB model of iPhone 6s at Rs 82,000. But Apple is yet to announce the prices officially, noted trade sources. On Friday, October 16 it will be available in over 2,500 retail locations across India. The launch event will held at over 80 cities across India. The new devices will compete with the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+. The US firm is trying to cash in on the upcoming festive season and Diwali that marks a spending spree in India. Apple sold over 13 million units of the new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus on the first three days of their availability, breaking its record of 10 million units sale of of 2014 by iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The US-based tech giant is seeking to build on the success of large-screen handsets introduced in 2014 that are dominating the high-end smartphone market. One of the key new features is called “3D touch,” which responds to pressure exerted on the screen to allow users to look inside messages and applications. The devices also have more powerful processors that allow for improved graphics, harder glass and a new aluminum body.
