Excerpts

What are the expectations on the market opportunity in India, especially in top metros like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore?

As many cities in India battle serious air pollution challenges and crises, Zonair3D, the leading innovator in medical-grade air purification from Europe, is making an aggressive presence in India. This is being done with a mission to bring pure, healthy indoor air to homes, offices, schools, and healthcare facilities across India.

What is the market strategy for India?

The preparations for India's entry had been ongoing for the past two years, with our Mumbai office coordinating the initiatives.

The significant part of the India launch had been the Z3D ‘Breathe Room’ hubs. They are transparent, walk-in experience zones available in select premium locations across Delhi NCR.

More such hubs are in the works. The visitors and users can experience the refreshing transformation from polluted to purified air within seconds. The changes in air quality are also demonstrated by live AQI displays and on-site product demonstrations. The units will be delivered within two days to the customer.

How strong are you in other international markets, and why is there significant traction with your unique technology?

We have a huge presence in many markets, and installations are increasing across Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. The clients also include leading luxury groups and healthcare institutions. The company’s mission in redefining indoor well-being through innovation and science is getting a solid response.

At the core of Zonair3D’s pure air technology is a smart combination of medical-grade filtration (ULPA U15) and patented gas-phase purification technology to deliver safe breathing environments in less than 20 minutes.

We are happy about the rapid market acceptance, as end users are convinced about the efficiency of our advanced air-purification systems that remove up to 99.995 percent of airborne particles, including PM2.5, ultrafine dust, VOCs, and airborne microorganisms.

Why do you want to be known as a clean air solution provider company and not as an air purifier company?

The company, with its focus on a culture of prevention rather than selling gadgets off the shelf, estimates the requirements and provides custom technology solutions. Both awareness and regulatory norms are advocating for India the need to access to the same medical-grade air quality standards, such as ULPA U15-certified filters used in European hospitals.

How does polluted air threaten public health?

Medical experts have already flagged their concerns on prolonged exposure to fine particulate matter, especially PM2.5 and other tiny particles. They cause various respiratory diseases and cardiovascular conditions and pose higher risks for children, pregnant women, and the elderly.

Along with pollution source control, effective indoor air purification is an urgent step to bolster health in view of the emerging environment.

Please share more details on your various products.

Starting with our iconic product BubblePureAir, Zonair 3D has gone a long way in supplying portable spaces to the market that help people breathe ISO5-certified pure air.

Zonair3D has a wide range of products tailored to every need. The entire range of products is based on BubblePureAir. Our key user segments include homes, offices, industry, sports centers, public spaces, and schools.

The company’s pure air solution is of the highest quality for indoor spaces, as it works on the latest communication technologies, including big data control and monitoring.

Bubble PureAir

The stringent quality of our equipment can be understood by the fact that they have to pass a test of 0.0 on 0.3-micron particles (PM 0.3). These high-quality standards also made our company a repeated winner of Technical Excellence Awards, including the Best European Technology Awards.

The air quality generated by the equipment is also the result of the use of quality non-deformable materials, handmade equipment installed professionally with tight air and the best filters, and due testing and approvals.

The product spectrum is extensive and diverse. Bubble Pure Air and Portable Equipment (Air Pro, Air +) provide different flow rates. A wide range of fixed installation equipment is also available for architectural integration into the wall, false ceiling, and automotive.

What is the background of the company, and what has been the vision and mission of its founders?

Xavier Trillo, founder of the company, believed that the way we breathe shapes the way we live. He took the steps to float a company to provide high-quality air in 2003 under a proprietary technology.

Remember, this was long before indoor air quality became a global concern. It will be interesting to note that the trigger of motivation to the founder came from a Hollywood movie, “Bubble Bay.”

How are the production and distribution handled in India?

To produce the air purification systems with Spanish know-how, we have tied up with Amber Enterprises in India. The products come with an absolute warranty for two years. We have put in place a robust and secure supply chain.

In the area of promotion and marketing, Zonair 3D is working with many channels, including architects, doctors, etc., who are part of the influencer community and can recommend the products to appropriate spaces.

What has been the journey of the products, especially the flagship Bubble that made it very popular in the market?

The BubblePureAir had been a favorite product for the institutional segment. But its adoption by the Doctors Without Borders organization for their mobile operation theaters made a big turnaround internationally.

Similarly, Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the sports celebrities who moved all his practice sessions to bubble-covered nets. This has augmented the demand for Bubble Pure Air in many sports facilities. Similarly, the Cannes Film Festival in France has also adopted the Bubble Air for its air quality during the events.

Finally, what is your message to the Indian market and stakeholders?

The message is that investing in the air cleaning technology and systems improves health, productivity, and social life. In other words, prevention is better than cure.
